Raise impacts the wellbeing of young people by providing best practice youth mentoring programs in high schools and in the community. Raise supports 1,000 young people and their mentors every year, and the organisation now has an exciting opportunity to be part of its strategic direction.


To help achieve its vision, Raise Foundation is seeking an exceptional people manager to step into the role of Program Director, reporting to the CEO, and working as part of the Executive Management Team.

The role encompasses developing and managing the successful outcomes of all aspects of Raise Foundation's in-school mentoring program, including people and program management responsibilities. These include staff recruitment and development, relationship management with key stakeholders such as secondary schools and local MPs, and establishing and implementing short and long term strategic initiatives for school programs across New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.

Your strong people management experience, program development capability, youth mentoring industry knowledge, and ability to represent the management team working with all levels of the organisation will give you great capacity in this exciting opportunity. It would be ideal if you have a background and love of working with young people and participating in the not for profit sector. You will have a motivational and warm leadership style, which will go a long way in supporting your team of Program Managers and Program Counsellors to deliver best practice in school mentoring programs across the country, in partnership with Program Directors for Victoria and South Australia and the management team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading your team of Program Managers and Program Counsellors to deliver their people and program management responsibilities and achieve significant social impact outcomes, by supporting volunteer mentors and the young people who benefit from Raise Foundation's mentoring programs
  • Working closely with the Executive Management Team to ensure that best practice standards and consistency are maintained within all school programs offered by Raise across the country
  • Leading the strategic development and implementation of the Raise in school mentoring programs relating to key KPIs and organisational direction, vision and mission
  • Collaboration with external partners such as education, government and corporate partners

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Relevant Degree qualifications in psychology, counselling, or social work
  • Qualified and experienced trainer holding a Certificate IV TAE
  • Minimum 3 years of people management experience
  • Minimum 3 years of strategic program development and implementation experience
  • Related work with young people, mentoring programs and/or the education system
  • Highly compassionate, ethical, innovative, professional and positive
